The Walls consists of several dance performances by choreographer Emilia Adelöw presented in Oslo in 2005-2008. In year 2005 she converted an office location in central Oslo to a studio where shows were produced, transformed and displayed.
The performances had a presentation from where a basic idea where the theme, choreography and dramaturgy repeats itself in several different contexts. The human body as carrier of communication, with underlying definitions and presentations of problems, is a pervading approach. The performances had portrays different life situations where the private room and space is central. The body language has tension in a moody atmosphere. Stilistic expression in combination with precision and detail in the choreographic language. A poetic form of language with dynamic and a nerve, expressed through movement and dance, gives form to people in relations as well as individuals reactions to inner and outer influences.
Sound design: Live electronics in combination with originally composed music creating the soundscape for the performances.
